We are just over two weeks into this young NBA season, but the basketball universe has already been turned on its head. Even though it’s a long year and nothing is close to decided yet, I imagine pundits and columnists everywhere are scratching their heads.
The Knicks are undefeated. The Timberwolves lead their division without Ricky Rubio or Kevin Love. The Miami Heat have 3 losses in 8 games. The best team in Los Angeles does not wear purple and gold, but rather blue and red, and look like a team that can make a run to the finals. The Bobcats are above .500 through 7 games, even though only won 7 games last year (Oh, and they have a better record than those star studded Lakers). San Antonio, who is 7-1, continues to defy physics by winning with their big 3, who are closer to winning a game of bingo at a retirement home than a finals game (Hey, remember when Manu had hair? because I don’t). Memphis only has 1 loss, and they beat the Heat is stunning fashion. I grizzed my pants when I saw Wayne Ellington knock down three after three after three, 8 three's in total, which is more than his career PPG of 6.5. Good for him! Former Tar Heels from the ’09 national championship team such as: Danny Green, "Psycho-T" Tyler Hansbrough, and Ty Lawson have all had success in the league; it’s now Danny's turn to get a little love. Anyways, it’s been a hectic start to the season, and I can’t wait to see the rest of the year unfold. Enjoy this highlight from last night.
