The New York Knicks take their 6-0 record to Memphis tonight to play the 6-1 Grizzlies. In a match up between the NBA's two best teams (record wise), anything can happen. Here is a preview:
The Knicks have the advantage in the backcourt with Felton and Kidd leading a formidable attack. Also, JR Smith coming off the bench and providing 20 PPG does not hurt. The Grizz have Conley but after that are very thin. Advantage Knicks.
The front court is where the Grizzlies boast a slight edge. Although the Knicks have current Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandler and defensive guru Ronnie Brewer, the Grizzlies have better offensive weapons with Randolph, Gasol, and Gay. Carmelo Anthony will undoubtedly be the best player out there tonight, but Rudy Gay will challenge him for that status.
Matchup to watch: Rudy Gay Vs. Carmelo Anthony
Rudy Gay and Carmelo Anthony have to be in the conversation for MVP thus far into the season. They are both playing at a very high level and will surely duel tonight.
Prediction: Knicks 106 Memphis 98
