Info Post
When J.R. Smith resigned with the Knicks this July for $2.8 Million, he turned down several lucrative offers form other teams around the league. J.R. had hoped he could build off his successful first year in New York and assume a larger role in the Knick’s offense; however, Mike Woodson has been bringing the eight year veteran off the bench as the Knick’s explosive sixth man thus far this season. J.R. has thrived in this role, providing instant offense off the pine for the undefeated NY Knicks (the only undefeated team in the NBA at this point). Through the first four games this season, J.R. has shot an astounding 68.8% from deep (the best percentage on the team), a perfect 100% from the charity stripe and has averaged a smooth 17.5 points per game. Smith is averaging more points than anyone on the squad aside from Carmelo, the heart and soul of our offense, and is tied with Kidd for the most steals per game at 2.25. With James Harden being traded away to Houston and no longer serving as the Thunder’s dominant sixth man, the door is wide open for J.R. to steal the title in his 2012-2013 campaign. If he can keep his numbers anywhere near what they are now, look for J.R. to easily claim the sixth man of the year award and, much more importantly, for the Knicks to keep winning and silencing the critics.

Also, J.R. has been a human highlight reel ever since coming into the league in 2004. Check out some of his unbelievable plays from the past year with the Knicks:
